Heaviest tractor and driver combination will be the lightweight class for the day. The second class will be that weight plus 100 pounds.

General Tractor Rules

1. All tractors must have a sufficient device to prevent the tractor from turning over. Wheelie bars and bumper bars must be installed on all tractors. Wheels or skid plates must be a minimum of 5” behind the rear tires and a maximum of 5” from the bottom of the wheel or plate to the ground. Vertical bumper bars must be behind the back face of the tire.
2. Wheelie bar rules will be strictly enforced.
3. No riding on wheelie bars.
4. Maximum tire size in all classes is 26 x 12 x 12. No duals, chains, or studded tires allowed.
5. Aluminum wheels allowed in all classes.
 
6. Maximum length of all tractors (excluding stock altered) is 8 feet measured from the center of the rear axle to the furthest point forward.
 
7. All tractors must have a working kill switch. It must be easily accessible for the hook man and cannot interfere with the weights or hitch. It must kill the ignition and the fuel pump if so equipped.
 
8. Each tractor must have a fire extinguisher in working condition securely fastened within easy reach of the driver.
 
9. Draw bar height is 13” from the ground to point of contact.
 
10. The hook point in the draw bar must be a minimum of 1½” and a maximum of 2” in diameter of hole made of at least 3/8” plate material, and hole must not be more than ¾” forward from the back edge of the hitching device. No part of the hitching device will be any further forward than the center of the rear axle. The hitching device must be stationary of all movement. An area of 5” wide, centered, and 12” high, centered, must be free of all obstructions. Hitch hole must be a complete circle. No open backs.
 
11. All 4-Cyl and V8 class tractors must have a safety cable around the hitch. The hitch has to have a 3/8” cable around the back of the hitch and around the front of the rear end. With two clamps on each splice or cable hook on axle tube.
 
12. Every tractor must have functional brakes.
 
13. Any tractor running over 4000 R.P.M. must have a steel flywheel.
 
14. All tractors must have full fenders with at least a 4” lip.
 
15. Any single cylinder motor running unlimited R.P.M. must have sides of the motor shielded from the bottom of the head down.
 
16. All tractors must have a cover on its points.
 
17. All tractors must have a specific name (“Tornado”, “Fireball”, etc.), Displayed on both sides of the tractor.
 
18. Notice of open gate status, depending on conditions.
 
19. Contestant will be allowed two attempts to start the sled, as long as the sled has not gone past the 30 foot mark for stock altered and 75 foot for all other classes on the first attempt. The judge’s decision is final.
 
20. Stock clutch shields should not be allowed in any other class than stock-altered. It is highly recommended that any clutch be shielded with 1/8” steel plate or ¼” aluminum plate minimum.
 
21. No rear weights can stick out past the plane of the rear wheels.
 
22. Rules are in effect when puller/driver pulls onto the grounds of the pull event.
 
23. All stock-altered, super stock, and modified tractors must have a hood, grill, and fenders.
 
24. Exhaust must discharge vertically, unless a stock type muffler is used.
 
25. All weights must be stationary and secured safely to the tractor. Loss of any part(s) of the tractor or weights or personal items while hooked to the sled will result in immediate disqualification.
 
26. All rules may be randomly checked.
 
28. Classes have been set by the members of this organization and the organization will not allow any class changes for the first (1 yr) pulling season. Only the directors can change classes during the year (according to by-laws) if class change is necessary. Must be a 75% majority vote to overturn existing class. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
 

Driver, Pit Crew, and Workers Rules

1. No smoking while on the track proper.
 
2. Obvious or excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages or drugs will be grounds for disqualification.
 
3. Drivers will operate their tractors in a safe and sane manner and driver will be in full control at all times unassisted. No one other than track officials will be allowed on the track while a pull is in progress.
 
4. Everyone is expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner. If this can’t be done, officials have the right to ask you to leave.
 
5. Someone must be in the seat of the tractor as long as it is started. This includes when the tractor is started for tuning purposes.
 
6. Drivers must remain in the seat during a pull and have one hand on the steering wheel at all times, even when shifting gears.
 
7. Driver must stop immediately when the red flag drops.
 
8. All pulls must start with a tight hitch. No jerking of the sled is permitted.
 
9. Driver must wear full covered shoes and long pants.
 
10. Slogans and/or sayings on tractors must be family oriented. No profanities or obscene gestures.
 
11. There will be a drivers’ meeting 30 minutes prior to pull time.
 
12. Pulling positions will be determined by a random draw at registration.
 
13. Any prize payouts will be paid at the next pull or carried until the end of the pulling season. It will be driver’s responsibility to obtain winnings. If not obtained please provide self-addressed stamped envelope in which payout would be mailed after banquet. Payout checks will not be able to be used for any entry fees. Personal checks or cash only. There will be a $35.00 charge for any returned check.
 
14. Registration closes 15 minutes before the class starts. Anyone not registered will not pull in that class.
 
15. All tractors must be in neutral while being hooked to the sled, with both hands readily visible to the flagman.
 
16. There will be no speeding in the pits.
 
17. A maximum of one entry per tractor per weight class. Maximum of two entries per tractor per event, excluding open class.
 
18. If a tractor is run on alcohol the driver must wear a fire suit.
 
19. Scale weight is on the honor system. Random checks will be made.
 
20. Two pounds over weight is allowed on scale weight.
